Cradling Drill #2: Cradle and Defend the Ball *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly cradle, switch hands while cradling, and protect the stick and ball from a defender. Teach a defender how to check and dislodge the ball.
Across the Field Passing *- OBJECTIVE: Use this drill to teach how to pass on the move up and across the field.
Pass & Pick Away *- This drill teaches the players how to move the ball and off ball movement . It also stress that we must always maintain a player at the X position behind the goal.
Passing Drill #1: Monkey In The Middle *- OBJECTIVE: The players facing each other should pass and receive the ball stick to stick (right handed pass should be caught by the receiver with their stick in their left hand). The receiver should then either turn with their stick away from pressure, or switch hands to keep their stick away from pressure before making the next pass.
Passing Drill #3 – Over The Shoulder Pass *- OBJECTIVE: Use this drill to teach how to catch and control the ball while running away from the passer, then look for and make an accurate pass while on the run.
Passing Drill #4: Pass & Catch *- The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly catch a pass and then pass back the ball back.
Passing Drill #5: Catch, Cradle and Pass *- The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly catch and cradle the ball. Start drill at a slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Passing Drill #6: Catch, Move, Pass *- The purpose of this drill is to teach how to pass and catch on the run, turn away from pressure. Make a pass and rotate around a triangle.
Ground Ball Drill #2: One on One *- OBJECTIVE: Teach how to gain position of a ground ball and look for an immediate outlet pass. Also, teach how to defend when an opposing player retrieves a ground ball.
Ground Ball Drill #3: Scoop, Cradle and Drop *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly scoop and cradle a ball that is stationary on the ground. Start drill at a slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Ground Ball Drill #4: Scoop, Cradle & Pass *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly catch, cradle and pass the ball. Start drill at a slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Ground Ball Drill #5: Scoop, Cradle and Roll *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly scoop and cradle the ball coming toward you. Start drill slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Ground Ball Drill #6: Scoop, Cradle, Dodge and Roll *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly scoop, cradle the ball and make a quick offense move. Start drill slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Ground Ball Drill #7: Scoop, Cradle, Dodge and Pass *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach how to properly scoop, cradle the ball, make a quick offensive move and pass. Start drill slowly and increase speed periodically until at a full run.
Defensive Checking Drill #1 - Circle Check *- OBJECTIVE: To teach how to properly check an opposing players stick, using multiple types of checks, to dislodge the ball. Be sure to explain the rules of checking. The player may check any part of the stick. Any part pf the glove is considered part of the stick while that gloved hand is holding the stick.
Delaware Defensive Foot Work Drill *- OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this drill is to teach proper defensive position and movement, playing close attention to stick position, balance, and transition between movements.
One on One Alley Drill: Offensive Dodging & Defensive Footwork- OBJECTIVE: The object of this drill is to teach the defender to prevent the attacker from moving forward, getting by him and breaching their back line. The job of the defender is to try and legally steal or knock the ball away from the attacker, or drive them out of the square area. The job of the attacker is to get by the defenseman.
